A cozy oasis above the streets of Brooklyn, Aliya Cocktail Den offers a warm and relaxed ambiance and is a welcomed alternative to the rowdy scenes around New York City. Opened in 2024, the speakeasy-like den is located on the fourth floor of Hotel Indigo Williamsburg and is accessible via an elevator from a “hidden” check-in area off the main lobby. The space offers a seamless day-to-night epicurean atmosphere, encouraging guests to linger in an elevated home-like setting with friends and family. By day, the indoor den is drenched with light; come evening, panoramic views to the west offer the perfect sunset. By nightfall, the den’s intimate ambiance provides dim ambient lighting that envelopes guests in mystery and romance reminiscent of a bygone era.
Unconventional in ideation, Aliya Cocktail Den offers an innovative selection of signature cocktails crafted by renowned mixologist Mike Haze, each categorized by distinct “personality traits.” Playful cocktails, like the Bonita Applebum (Cognac, apple juice, lime, maple, torched rosemary, and cinnamon), fall under the sweet and sour category, while spirit-forward creations, such as the 219 (Bourbon, rum, tamarind, pineapple, and allspice), exude a “Dangerous” allure. The “Powerful” section features strong yet approachable drinks like the Jaja (dark rum, peach, allspice), and indulgent “Decadent” options include the Grasshopper (Branca Menta, mint liqueur, crème de cacao, and cream). Rounding out the menu are “Classy,” “Bashful,” and “Bubbly” cocktails to suit any mood.
Complementing the drinks, the tapas-style menu by Chef and Partner Scotley Innis showcases dishes such as Lamb Shank Pot Pie, Plantain Fries, Oyster Mushroom, and Lobster Tostones.
Sitting adjacent to the den, its newly renovated seasonal pool deck with private cabanas available by reservation via Resort Pass. The 70-foot pool offers guests quintessential Williamsburg views and vistas of the Manhattan skyline.
Originally from New York City, Le Cordon Bleu-trained Chef and Restaurateur Scotley Innis has established himself as a culinary powerhouse in Atlanta since 2004 by working through some of the city’s top kitchens. In 2021, Chef Scotley began a new chapter as the Co-owner and Executive Chef of Atlanta’s Continent Restaurant and Cigar Lounge, named one of the "Most Anticipated Restaurants for 2021" by Eater. Appearances on Hell's Kitchen, Chopped, and Late Night Eats have also made Chef Innis a welcomed TV personality, where his affinity for elevated cuisine based on his Jamaican heritage has become a memorable combination.
